First distribution of flour shipped into Gaza begins

MHAF is very pleased to see that the first distribution of flour shipped into Gaza has begun, marking a significant milestone in our effort to help humanitarian organisations alleviate the suffering of the Gazan people.

MHAF procured 1,100 metric tons of flour locally in Cyprus. The goods were sent to Gaza via the maritime corridor, cooperating with the Government of Cyprus’s Amalthea Plan and the USAID-led pier. The flour was then delivered to an NGO in Gaza for final distribution, in coordination with the UN and partners’ Logistics and Food Security Cluster.

From the first batch of 212 pallets, each registered family was provided with two 25kg bags of flour. When complete, the full distribution will provide for 6.9 million meals.

A key focus of this distribution effort is to support women and children, who are often the most vulnerable in times of crisis. The photos below highlight the organized and dedicated distribution process that ensures families receive the aid they need.

By offering additional transport capacity for aid, MHAF can help humanitarian organisations secure the nutritional needs of Gazans and improve the overall well-being of conflict-affected communities.
